Palabras
’Palabras’ is a piece for violin or viola and electronics (live or tape). It is a part of my future chamber opera ‘The Illuminated Traces of Ligeia’. The title Palabras, comes from the short novel ”Light is like water” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, that I use as an inspiration.
The live-electronic version was a first test of my multifunction live-electronic patch in Max/MSP. It is very demanding for both the musician and the one playing electronics. Nothing is pre-recorded so it is important that all settings are right during the whole piece.
The version for musician and electronic sound file, acquires a stopwatch and something to start the sound file; loop pedal, computer or mp3-player..
